Not every fragrance leaves the factory in the same bottle. Roll-on formats, pocket bottles and standard spray bottles each ask something different of the line. A producer who plans for one format may find that the equipment struggles with another. Looking at formats early helps avoid a costly change later.
Roll-On Bottles Need Careful Dosing
A roll on perfume filling machine fills small, narrow-necked bottles fitted with a roller ball. Dosing must be consistent, because an over-filled bottle can leak around the ball while an under-filled one looks short on the shelf. Phoenix lists a roll on perfume filling line among its integrated lines. For a brand selling roll-ons alongside sprays, it is worth confirming that the same perfumes filling machine can switch between formats without a full rebuild.

Pocket Formats and Smaller Volumes
Pocket perfume bottles are smaller and often sold in larger quantities. Phoenix offers a pocket perfume filling line in its range. Smaller formats put more weight on filling accuracy and on the speed of the packing step, since a slow packer can become the bottleneck when bottles are small and numerous.
What Changes in the Tanks
The format does not change the compound much, but it changes how much compound each run needs. A brand selling many small bottles may empty a vessel more often, which makes the sizing of perfume tanks and perfume storage tanks, and the frequency of cleaning, more important. The processing line’s tanks, from 30 to 1000 litres, can be matched to the run size of each format. A CIP system between formats helps keep residue from one fragrance from reaching the next.
Packing Each Format Correctly
A perfumes packaging machine or overwrapping station must be set for each carton or film size, and a perfume packing machine has to handle each bottle shape without re-tooling the whole line. Overwrapping machines in servo, semi-automatic and manual versions let Phoenix’s lines suit different pack sizes. Before purchase, list each format, its carton dimensions and the expected monthly volume. That list shows the supplier which packing option is practical and which would sit idle.

A Simple Checklist for Multi-Format Lines
Ask whether formats can be changed without a full stop, how long a changeover takes and whether parts are shared between formats. Also ask whether leak checks are built in for roll-on bottles, since those are the most likely to fail in transit. Clear answers to these questions matter more than a headline speed figure.
